Στις 26 Φεβρουαρίου, 2017 στο Dolby Theatre στο Hollywood θα διεξαχθεί η 89η τελετή των Oscar με παρουσιαστή τον Jimmy Kimmel.
Το ‘La La Land’ όπως ήταν και αναμενόμενο μάζεψε τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες (συνολικά 14), κάτι που έχει καταφέρει μόνο ο ‘Τιτανικός’ και το ‘All About Eve’.
Επίσης, η ενέργεια της ακαδημίας να προσκαλέσει 683 νέα μέλη επιδιώκοντας περισσότερη διαφορετικότητα φαίνεται να αποδίδει. Θέλοντας να αποφύγει φέτος το θέμα του #OscarsSoWhite, τιμάει με υποψηφιότητες 6 Αφροαμερικανούς ηθοποιούς καθώς και τα ‘Moonlight’, ‘Fences’ και ‘Hidden Figures’ στην κατηγορία της καλύτερης ταινίας.
Η Meryl Streep φυσικά δεν έλειπε από της κατηγορία Α’ Γυναικείου, πετυχαίνοντας την 20η της υποψηφιότητα. Κάποιο ρεκόρ θα είναι και αυτό σίγουρα.
